Must Watch Anime You Have Probably Never Seen: Utawarerumono

I have watched about two-three hundred anime series over the last 10 years, with no particular favorite genre i try to watch everything that looks better than a steamy pile of turd (95% of anime is at least worth a poke). After watching most, if not all of the popular series out there, i had to start digging deeper to find series that were given little publicity and were known by only a small percentage of core anime fans around the world.

With this i have decided to post an anime series you probably overlooked every week or two from this day on wards. Some of them will be quiet mainstream and others retro or completely underground. This week i have decided to share with you a series i watched a couple of years back simply for the reason that i have not forgotten the events that took place in that series (Its Epic).

 Utawarerumono

As far as writing reviews goes, i cant. Its something im going to work at but for now all i can do is provide a synopsis say a few good words and bring the series to your attention. Lets get to it.

Plot Summary:

(provided by Anime News Network)

"An injured, amnesiac man with a mysterious mask is found abandoned in the forest. After he is nurtured back to health, he is given the name Hakuoro. After saving the village from a wrathful deity, he adopts the role of the village's leader. Although wishing to live in peace, fate eventually forces him down the path of war and battle..."

Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Mystery, Romance and Science fiction.

All i can say is that all of the characters in the series are very likable, the main bro (Hakuro) is like some godly war-tactics buff who is surrounded by beautiful women who want him, but soon enough puts them in there place as he makes it clear there nothing more than good friends/ a family(why i left the harem tag out of the genres). When his not being loved by the people or bringing the thunder to his enemy's, he is just a truly awesome character. There is none of this "i don't want to kill" bs, Mercy is shown to those who deserve it and scum is put down by the swift hand of justice.

Any further description from me on this anime would only do it harm. The series is paced well and keeps you interested at all times. There are a few points where i felt that there was a bit of information missing but nothing so drastic that i would potentially ruin the series. Towards the end it was a little bit rushed but the finale of this series is extremely satisfying, punching this Anime high into my recommend list.
